All major credit cards, cash and eftpos cards are accepted. Amex and Diners Club cards will attract a 4% surcharge. Alternatively you can transfer funds into our bank account by Internet banking - please contact us for details. Payment will be taken on arrival.

Cancellation Policy for Regular Customers

  1. For larger long term bookings at our Wanaka accommodation, we may require a deposit by credit card equal to 25% of the total value. Upon receipt, your booking will be secured and a unique reservation number issued. Under some circumstances we may waive the need to take funds in advance but 2) and 3) below will still be applicable.
  2. In the event of cancellation, Wanaka Homestead will apply the following fees: Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival will incur no charge. Cancellations made 30-7 days prior to arrival will incur a charge of 25% of the value of the total stay. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, or failure to arrive, a charge of 100% will be incurred.
  3. Should Wanaka Homestead successfully resell the booking, funds minus any expenses such as credit card fees, will be refunded in full.

Cancellation Policy for Exclusive-Use Bookings and/or Long-Stay Bookings (those exceeding 2 weeks duration)

As above except, due to the potentially serious effect of such cancellations on our business, we charge 25% as a non refundable deposit.


Check-in: 3pm; Check-out: 10am. Exceptions are often possible - please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.


All linen is provided. On a daily basis our housekeeping staff will change towels, make beds, clean surfaces, and empty bins. A full linen change occurs by default on every third day. Separate towels are provided for hot tub use. For the sake of the environment, towels can by laundered less frequently on request. Regretably the daily cottage servicing does not include washing up dishes.


Sorry, all accommodations are non-smoking but you are most welcome to smoke outside but please respect the comfort of our other guests.


Guest laundry is open 08:30hrs to 20:30hrs - washing powder is provided. Tumble dryer and clothes line provided. Hot tub, outside fires and BBQ - please vacate these areas by 22:00hrs to minimise neighbourhood noise. Internet Station - Open daily 08:00 to 21:00hrs. Outside fires are often subject to council fire ban, especially duing summer.


Guests have the free reign of their own building, outside facilities, laundry, ski store/ drying room. However, due to limited space and privacy we regret that the Homestead's Lodge guest-lounge is only available to guests staying in the Lodge. There are no guest cooking facilities or kitchen facilities in the Lodge.


Our Cottages have been purpose-built to facilitiate easy child care, with full kitchens, DVD player, a small child-friendly DVD library and a bath tub in each cottage as well as showers. Cots and high chairs are also available.

The Lodge has been designed as a peaceful retreat, typically for couples. 


All loss or damage to property, or carpet or fabric stains in excess of normal wear and tear will be charged for at cost.
