Arrival & departure times
Check-in is from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. Check-out is at 10:00am.
Often, exceptions are possible. If an exception is required, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We warmly welcome children in both the Ruby Cottage and Lismore Cottage which have been purpose-built to be family and child-friendly. Both Cottages have full kitchens, spacious, comfortable open plan dining and lounge areas, Smart TVs, plus bathtubs and showers. Cots and high chairs are available on request. The Lodge has been designed as a peaceful adult-only retreat, typically for couples or groups.
*Please note that outside fires are on occasion subject to fire bans as imposed by the Wanaka Council – usually in the summer months. Please then, do not take offense if we cannot safely, legally permit you to have an outdoor fire when you come to visit.
All loss or damage to property, carpet or fabric stains in excess of normal wear and tear will be charged for at cost.
Guests have free and full reign in their own building and free use of the outside facilities, laundry, ski storage & drying room.
The dining area and lounge in the Lodge is for the exclusive use of Lodge guests only. Being bed & breakfast accommodation, there are no guest kitchen or cooking facilities in the Lodge.
The Cottages are fully self-contained and set up with open plan living, dining and kitchens for self catering.
If there is a Group booking which has the full & exclusive use and enjoyment of Wanaka Homestead including all rooms in the Lodge and both Cottages, Cottage guests may enjoy the Lodge dining and lounge area.
All major credit cards, cash and eftpos cards are accepted. American Express and Diners Club Cards will attract a 4% surcharge. Alternatively you can transfer funds into our bank account by Internet banking – please contact us for details. If not paid prior, payment is taken on arrival.
1. For larger long term bookings, we may require a deposit by credit card equal to 25% of the total value. Upon receipt, your booking will be secured and a unique reservation number issued. Under some circumstances (as with returning customers) we may waive the need to take funds in advance but 2) and 3) below will still be applicable.
2. In the event of cancellation, Wanaka Homestead will apply the following fees:
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival will incur no charge.
Cancellations made 30 - 7 days prior to arrival will incur a charge of 25% of the value of the total stay.
Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, or failure to arrive, a charge of 100% will be incurred.
*Cancellation Policy for Exclusive-Use Bookings and/or Long-Stay Bookings (from 1 night to 2 weeks duration)
As above except, due to the potentially serious effect of such cancellations on our business, we charge 25% as a non refundable deposit.
3. Should Wanaka Homestead successfully resell the booking, funds minus any expenses such as credit card fees, will be refunded in full.
On a daily basis our housekeeping staff will make beds, clean surfaces, empty bins and change towels. For the sake of the environment, towels can by laundered less frequently. When you do you want your towels laundered, please place them in your bathroom sink or in the bathtub.
Separate towels are provided for hot tub use.
All linen is provided. A full linen change occurs by default on every third day.
Regrettably the daily Cottage servicing does not include washing up dishes.
All accommodation is non-smoking. You are able to smoke outside, but please consider and respect the comfort of other guests.
